Read time: 2 minutes

Do you want to make YouTube videos? Are you eager to start creating content but feeling intimidated by the idea of making your first video?
Don’t worry. You’re not alone.
Every YouTuber talks about how scary it was to make their first video.
The good news is that making your first video is the most important step toward building your channel and gaining momentum.

It’s important to remember that everyone starts somewhere and your first video doesn’t have to be perfect.
In fact, it’s best if it’s not.
My first video was awful.
Bad audio
Bad editing
Bad thumbnail
Monotone/shy voice
Simply creating your first video and analyzing it afterward will teach you more than watching dozens of educational videos in preparation.
Here are some simple tips to make your first video:
Just do it - don’t overthink it, just start filming. Even Mr. Beast’s first video was awful. Look how far he has come. You DON’T need to be perfect.
Choose a topic you’re passionate about - this will help you to be more authentic and engaging on camera. Your energy will shine through and more people will connect.
Keep it simple - don’t try to make a masterpiece on your first try. Focus on creating an engaging video that is easy to film and edit. You can add more complex things in future videos.
Be yourself - don’t try to be someone you’re not. The world doesn’t need another Mr. Beast. It needs you in your best form. Viewers can tell when you’re just trying to copy someone else.
Have fun - Making videos should be enjoyable. Relax, and do something you genuinely enjoy. Otherwise, you will burn out.
